Every couple has a first day. On yours, the planets stood in one arrangement, and they have never stood quite that way since.

A paper gift for the first anniversary.

Paper is the traditional first anniversary gift: one year together, the first page of a long story. The Date Print is printed on premium matte paper, so it keeps the tradition and gives it a sky.

Choose frameless if you want the paper itself to be the gift, or framed so it can go straight on the wall. For later anniversaries, from the silver 25th to the golden 50th, the date stays the same and only the words change: “Ten years under these planets.”

For your parents’ anniversary.

Use their wedding date, with a line from the whole family beneath it, such as “Where we all began” or “Fifty years under these planets.” For a milestone year, it can be one gift from all of you.

Good to know.

Is it a good first anniversary gift?

Yes. Paper is the traditional first anniversary gift, and the Date Print is printed on premium matte paper. Choose frameless for the paper itself, or framed to hang it the same day.

Can I put both our names on it?

Yes. The message takes up to 80 characters on two short lines, for example “Sam and Alex” above “Still our favorite day”.

What if we are not sure of the day we met?

Pick the closest day you both agree on, or use your first date instead. The planets move slowly, so a day either way changes the picture very little; only Mercury, the fastest, shifts noticeably.

When will it arrive?

Prints are made to order in 2 to 5 business days and ship free to Canada and the US. Most arrive within 1 to 2 weeks. Phone cases reach US addresses in about 1 to 2 weeks and Canadian addresses in about 2 to 5 weeks.

Is there a last-minute option?

Yes. Choose the digital file and we email it within 24 to 48 hours as a high-resolution JPG, ready to print or to send.

How accurate is it?

Each planet’s position on your date is calculated from NASA JPL’s published orbital data. On a 16x20 print, every planet sits within half a millimeter of NASA JPL’s reference position, for any date from 1900 to 2050. You can compare your date with NASA’s own simulator.

Will I see it before it is made?

Yes. The studio draws your design live as you choose the date and the words, and that is exactly what we make.
