Our first home
Housewarming gift: the planets on the day you got the keys.
Welcome home”
The first day in a new home has its own sky. The Date Print keeps it.
The planets as they stood on moving day, the date beneath, and one word or a line of your own. It hangs in the hallway of the home it belongs to.
A warm gift for friends who just moved, or for yourselves. Black reads like a deep night sky, white like morning light.
Which date to choose.
-
The day you got the keys
The closing day, the one on the paperwork, and the one most people choose.
-
The first night in
Boxes everywhere, dinner on the floor, and the first night under your own roof.
-
The day the offer was accepted
The moment it became yours, before the move began.
-
The housewarming itself
The first night the home was full of friends.
If you don’t know the date.
The day they got the keys is the one most people choose, but it is easy to miss. If you can’t find it, use the date of the housewarming itself: the first night the home was full.
Or ask. “When did you get the keys?” is a question most people are happy to answer, and it rarely gives the surprise away.

-
Frameless
For friends who want to choose a frame to match the new place.
Good to know.
Can I send it to their new address?
Yes. Enter it at checkout. Shipping is free to Canada and the US.
What if they moved in years ago?
The date still works. The planets go back to 1900, so the day a family first moved in can be kept, however long ago.
Can I choose a date in the future?
Yes. If the move is still ahead, choose the closing date now and the print can be ready for the first day.
When will it arrive?
Prints are made to order in 2 to 5 business days and ship free to Canada and the US. Most arrive within 1 to 2 weeks. Phone cases reach US addresses in about 1 to 2 weeks and Canadian addresses in about 2 to 5 weeks.
Is there a last-minute option?
Yes. Choose the digital file and we email it within 24 to 48 hours as a high-resolution JPG, ready to print or to send.
How accurate is it?
Each planet’s position on your date is calculated from NASA JPL’s published orbital data. On a 16x20 print, every planet sits within half a millimeter of NASA JPL’s reference position, for any date from 1900 to 2050. You can compare your date with NASA’s own simulator.
Will I see it before it is made?
Yes. The studio draws your design live as you choose the date and the words, and that is exactly what we make.
