About the artwork
What exactly am I buying?
A custom piece of art that maps the real positions of the planets on a date you choose. You pick the date; we generate the artwork for that night’s sky and print it (or send you a digital file). Every date produces a different piece.
How accurate is it?
The planetary positions are calculated from the date you enter, so your piece reflects where the planets actually were that night. It’s designed as a beautiful, sentimental keepsake , an artistic portrait of a moment , rather than a scientific instrument, so we style it for the wall, not the observatory.
Do you need my location or time, or just the date?
Just the date. That’s all it takes to create your piece. You can also add an optional message that we’ll include on the artwork.
Can I choose a future date, like a wedding or a due date?
Yes. Past or future , any date that matters to you works.
Will I see a preview before it’s made?
We don’t send an individual proof , each piece is generated and produced directly from the details you enter, which keeps things fast and lets us make it just for you. That’s why we ask you to double-check your date, message, size, format, and color at checkout. Our sample images show exactly the style and quality you’ll receive.
Formats, sizes, and colors
What formats do you offer?
Three: a frameless poster, a framed poster, and a digital download you print yourself.
What sizes are available?
8×10, 11×14, 12×18, and 16×20 inches. Pick the size that fits your space (or your frame, if you’re buying digital).
What does “color” mean , black or white?
It’s the artwork’s color scheme: black is a deep, dark night-sky design; white is a clean, light design. For framed pieces, the frame matches the artwork (black art → black frame, white art → white frame).
Which should I pick for my own frame (digital)?
Choose the size whose proportions match your frame. 8×10 and 16×20 share the same shape (4:5); 11×14 and 12×18 each have their own proportions. You’ll receive the file cropped to match the size you choose.
Ordering, delivery, and turnaround
How long until I get it?
Printed pieces are made to order: allow about 2-5 business days to create and print, then 2-5 business days delivery in Canada / 3-6 business days in the US. Most orders arrive within 1-2 weeks. You’ll get tracking when it ships.
How does the digital download work?
After you order, we create your custom file and email it within 24-48 hours as a high-resolution (300 DPI) JPG, ready to print. Digital files are for personal use only.
How much is shipping?
Free on all printed orders to Canada and the US.
Where do you ship?
Canada and the United States for printed pieces. Digital downloads are available anywhere by email.
Can I change my order or fix a typo?
Email planetryprints@gmail.com with your order number as soon as possible. If we haven’t started production yet, we’ll do our best to fix or cancel it. Once it’s in production it can’t be changed.
Returns and problems
What’s your return policy?
Because every piece is custom-made, orders aren’t returnable for a change of mind or for details entered incorrectly at checkout. But if your order arrives damaged or with a printing defect, we’ll reprint and reship it free , just email us within 14 days with photos. See our full Refund & Return Policy.
My order hasn’t arrived / arrived damaged. What do I do?
Email planetryprints@gmail.com with your order number (and photos if it’s damaged) and we’ll sort it out , a reship for lost orders, a free replacement for damaged or defective ones.
